BoH Announces Tour With My Morning Jacket; Dave’s Apartment Floods

Hey everyone!  Sorry for being late to the game on the recent (and completely badass) announcement of Band of Horses’ upcoming tour with My Morning Jacket.  I’m just now getting done from cleaning up from a pretty seriously flooded apartment and getting a chance to post on here again.

At any rate, yes!  U.S. tour dates!  Plenty of them!  I, personally, will probably be going to Chicago and/or Columbus to catch the guys, but it seems they’re going to be covering a lot of ground over the Summer (not to mention their upcoming mini-tour in the Southern Hemisphere).

I’ve listed all of the upcoming shows right here on the Ode (see here for all the scoop) for you to check out.  My Morning Jacket is such an awesome band, it would be a shame not to catch them with BoH this Summer–it’s really going to be a great show.  On a sidenote, I know I missed a couple shows on the Ode’s “show” page; that’s because I’m still tracking down ticketing/venue info.  I will totally post them as soon as I’ve got the 411.  All the infos should be there now :-)

Hope you’re all doing well (and staying dry) out there!

Band of Horses Playing Deluna Fest 2012!

Joining an absolutely incredible lineup (including headliners Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters), Band of Horses will be bringing their incredible live show to Deluna Festival in Pensacola Beach, Florida, which goes down September 21 – 23.  The day and time they’re playing are still TBA, but this has got to be great news for folks who are hoping to catch them in the U.S.

I’ll be keeping an eye out for more updates on this show (to include figuring out when tickets go on sale so I can hook y’all up with a link), and in the meantime, I hope you’re all having a great  morning!

Update:  Tickets are on sale now.  Click here to buy tickets.

Nice Catch!

So, I happened upon this out in the Twitterverse today:

And as it turns out:

Gustavo has a very sharp eye indeed, and I agree wholeheartedly with him in saying that Band of Horses’ tribute to the late Jim Marshall was a very classy touch.

I hope you’re all doing wonderfully!

Band of Horses Play New Song “Long Vows” at Lollapalooza Brazil!

This video has very recently surfaced on YouTube of Band of Horses playing a new track “Long Vows” at the recent pocket show they did at Lollapalooza Brazil.

From what I have heard of it (I am at work, and my computer speakers aren’t the best), it is super-chill, very country-ish, and pure awesome.

After this, I’ll be sure to keep my eye out for more new material.  In the meantime, I hope you’re all having a great day, and that you’re all happy, healthy, and safe.

Band of Horses Live From Sao Paulo

The band’s amps are still probably warm from their gig tonight in Sao Paulo, and already this is on the interwebs for us all to bask in.

Yes, the full set (I think) has been posted on YouTube for us all who couldn’t make it to the southern hemisphere to see it for ourselves.  Not only that, but it looks like the feed from the big-screens, and the audio is superb.  What a freaking treat!

I’ll get out of the way momentarily, but I just wanted to take a second to congratulate Band of Horses on a freaking incredible gig.  They sound amazing, and they played their hearts out, for sure.  The crowd was really into it, and the band responded with a set that was full-on badassery.  Yes, at 1 a.m., badassery becomes part of my vocabulary.

At any rate, I hope you enjoy this as much as I did, and that your weekend is happy, healthy, and safe!

Band of Horses Playing Tipping Point Benefit

Check this out.  Band of Horses is going to be playing the Tipping Point benefit in San Franscisco on May 10th!

Tipping Point funds the most effective poverty-fighting organizations across six Bay Area counties. While their groups range in tenure, size and scale, they all have strong leadership, clean financials, the desire to work with an engaged funder and measurable results in the fight against poverty.

Tipping Point Community screens non-profits rigorously to find the most effective organizations connecting Bay Area individuals and families to the services and opportunities needed to break the cycle of poverty and achieve economic self-sufficiency

Needless to say, the benefit is a great way to check out an amazing band and have your money go to a very, very worthwhile cause.

You can buy tickets (which look like they’re going awfully quick) here.

Video of Weed Party At Quilmes Rock

Here’s a pretty darn good fan-made video that I stumbled upon this morning of Band of Horses rocking out “Weed Party” at Quilmes Rock.

Aside from it making me want American tour dates so….freaking….bad, it’s honestly just nice to see the guys back on a stage and enjoying themselves.  With that in mind, I’ll get of your way so you can check out this great rendition of an awesome song.

I hope your day is going great out there!

Video of Band of Horses in Buenos Aires

Check out this video (I couldn’t embed it here) of Band of Horses absolutely shredding at Quilmes Rock in Buenos Aires.  The sound on the video isn’t the best, but, to be honest, you don’t need a load of volume to see just how much energy is being put into the performance.  And look at that crowd!  Holy crap!  Our freds in Argentina really turned out, ha?

I hope your morning is off to a safe and happy start!

“The First Song” From Lollapalooza Chile

Check out this great fan-made video of Band of Horses absolutely rocking out a rendition of “The First Song” from Lollapalooza Chile the other day.

The guys sound absolutely great; this video makes me really hope there’s an announcement of some American tour dates coming up.

Of course, BoH has another South American gig today before wrapping up on the 7th in Sao Paulo.  If you have tickets to either of those shows, I think you’re in for a great time.

In the meantime, I’ll be on the lookout for more videos, reviews, pictures, and whatever else I can get find and share with you.  I hope your day is off to a great start!
