Full KCRW Performance!

Howdy everyone!

Band of Horses performed on KCRW‘s show “Morning Becomes Eclectic” a little earlier today, and in case you missed it, KCRW has been nice enough to spread the love with the cool little music player you will find below.

I must tell you, I’ve listened to a LOT of the guys’ live stuff, and aside from seeing them in person, this is by far my favorite performance ever.  The guys break out new acoustic versions of both new and old songs, and Ben gets to say “good afternoon.”  :P  You can tell the guys are fresh from a well-deserved break, because the energy is tangible even though you’ll be listening online.

I really hope you enjoy this as much as I did.  I listened to it straight through while working on the last post and am probably going to listen again before the night is over.

Man, these guys rock!

Catching Up

Hey everybody!  First and foremost, sorry for the lack of posts the past couple weeks.  While everything is perfectly okay, life for me has been incredibly busy and some things came up that took me away from the site for a little while.

Not forever, though!

Anyway, so much has gone down that I’m not even sure where to start.  So, I guess I’ll just get you caught up on all the BoH-related awesomeness of the last week and a half :)

Whew!  A lot going on, I know!  Hopefully I didn’t miss anything (like a certain KCRW performance that’ll get its own post in just a little bit), and sorry for taking so long to check in with everyone :)

I really hope everyone is doing just great, and I will (as always) do my best to stay on top of all the BoH-related goings on for y’all.  In the meantime, hope everyone is having a great day!

Robert Plant Thanks God For Band of Horses

In a recent interview with the Irish Times, Robert Plant (who, as some of you may recall, was the lead singer of Led Zeppelin and is currently still making beautiful music–see Band of Joy) had this to say about Band of Horses:

…can I just say thank God for Band of Horses? What a band: a real revelation.

We at odetoboh agree, sir.  Enthusiastically.

Hope you’re having a great day!

Congratulations, Cole Wilson

Many congratulations are in order for Cole Wilson, winner of the Skate With Creighton contest. Below is the winning video entry–suffice to say the dude has some sick moves!  It makes me glad I didn’t send in the video I’d originally had in mind:  me in front of a green screen, skating the Swiss Alps.

Once again, cogratulations Cole!

Tyler Ramsey In Imaginational Anthem!

Tyler Ramsey is going to be featured in Tompkins Square’s upcoming compilation album, Imaginational Anthem Volume 4:  New Possibilities. The album is going to be released on September 21st, but you can pre-order now on Amazon.

If you’ve never heard Tyler’s work before, I highly recommend it.  His music is mellow and soulful at the same time.  Listen for yourself, though!  Go to his MySpace page and check it out (my favorite is still “Ships”).   You won’t be disappointed!

Hope you’re having a great day out there, y’all!

Full Sydney Nudie Jeans Performance!

Just recently, when the band was in Australia, Ben and Tyler swung by the Nudie Jeans store in Sydney and delivered an absolutely beautiful full set.  Luckily for all of us, Nudie has been kind enough to let all of us who didn’t get to be there in on the awesomeness by releasing this great video of their performance.

What you get here is just over half an hour of gorgeous music, so sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Hope you’re having a great day out there!

Fantastic Performance of "Evening Kitchen"

Rolling Stone just posted this beautiful performance of “Evening Kitchen,” featuring Tyler, Ryan, and Ben from what I am nearly 100% sure is the band’s performance from this past April at Rockpalast.

Well worth your attention in this video is the venue itself, a beautiful German church that very obviously compliments the gorgeous music well.  I’d imagine, too, that the church added a great natural reverb to the music as well.

Anyway, enough of me, check out the video, and when you’re done, check out the full performance from Rockpalast this past April–including Tyler’s supporting performance (see “Birdwings”).  It’s a great show, and a great taste of what it’s like to see the guys live!

Hope you’re all having an awesome day out there!

Tromso Wedding Video

You may remember the post from the other day with the picture of Band of Horses playing “Marry Song” at the wedding in Tromso.  Well, now we have the video to accompany it!  I couldn’t be happier for the newlyweds and am glad they get to have this video to show their kids and grandkids someday!

Also, remember how I mentioned I’d love to hear the story behind this someday?  Well…

From “drunkghosts” on YouTube (the guy or gal who’s been posting multitudes of cool BoH vids):

Njal proposed to Elin at the Band of Horses show in Oslo earlier this year. When the Bride and Groom heard that BoH was to play a festival in Tromso on the same day of their wedding, they contacted the band and told them their story. With all the coincidences surrounding the wedding, the band said, “What the hell” and decided to surprise the couple. The band showed up minutes after landing in Tromso to play Marry Song at their ceremony. BoH was honored to be a part of the couple’s special day. Congratulations Njal and Elin!

Enjoy, y’all!
