Okay, so I waited a little while before I posted this–I just wanted to be able to confirm that everything I was reading was true.
As it turns out, it all was true! Band of Horses played a surprise show tonight at The Horseshoe in Toronto. From what I’ve been able to gather up to this point, they announced the show via Twitter just a little while before they began playing.
It really seems like, in an age of completely inaccessible bands, they are pulling out all the stops to show they’re thankful toward their fans. From being able to stream the entire Infinite Arms album for free before it’s even released to hosting an online listening party of the forthcoming album and playing a surprise show, it’s apparent that, even on the cusp of what I predict to be very respectable mainstream success, they are going all-out to stay close to the fans.
Suffice to say I wish Jodi and I could be in Toronto tonight, but that I’m seriously happy for the folks who got to go and thoroughly impressed (all over again) by everything the band is doing to be cool with the fans.
Hope you’re all having a great evening out there!
